Pnm-3: Quality of Life in Pregnant Women with Sleep Disorder

Abstract:
Background: 79% of the pregnant women suffer from sleep disorders. Sleep disorders before, during, and after childbirth can affect the quality of life of pregnant women. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life of pregnant women with sleep disorders in the second trimester. Materials and Methods: This study was cross-sectional study. Data was collected with continuous sampling method ,from 100 pregnant women with sleep disturbances (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality based on standard questionnaires ) in second trimester referring to two elected health centers in order to get prenatal care at Maku (Western Azarbayjan University of Medical Sciences ). Data was collected by using the personal information forms and the questionnaires summarized in the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL: BREF). Statistical methods (frequency tables, Pearson, Spearman and ANOVA) were used for data analysis. Results: The results indicate that mean of sleep quality was 8.62 ± 2.81 in pregnant women with sleep disorders or poor quality of sleep in the second trimester. Quality of life and four domains include: physical health, psychological health, social and environmental health related quality of sleep. Conclusion: Given that a large percentage of pregnant women suffer from sleep disorders, particularly in the second trimester, Hope this period, in addition to usual care, special programs for research, diagnostics and troubleshooting the cause of the disturbance takes place.
